Ladies:  Yes, it’s that time of the year again.  The kids are back in school and the grandkids have gone back home again.   It’s time to think about Valley Women’s Network luncheons.  Our first luncheon meeting of the year will be taking place on 23rd of September, Best Western Rainbow Country Inn, networking starting at 1130 am and buffet lunch at 1200 hrs.  If you haven’t already done so try to come early, avoid the line up, to renew your membership and get your picture taken for this year’s directory. Those of you who want to “rent” a table are reminded to reserve it through Marge McAra either by emailing at mcpro2@shaw.ca or telephoning 604-792-9931.  You’re also reminded that the “rent” for your table is merchandise from your table or a gift.  Either of which is to be a value of at least $10.00.   For those members who are having trouble with the website and can’t make reservations through the website please telephone or email Marge at the above address or phone number.   Our luncheon focus for this month will be networking – rekindling old friendships and business contacts, as well as, starting possible new ones.   Hope to see you on the 23rd. The Core

2 Important World Topics – 2 Informative Speakers The Canadian Cancer Society will have a representative at our meeting speaking on ‘Current Trends - Management of Breast Cancer’. Jess Pringle from GoGo Grandmothers Who Are GoGo Grandmothers What Do They Do? The focus of this group is on four critical areas: orphans, grandmothers and people living with HIV and AIDS. Today, there are well over 100 groups across Canada, from British Columbia to Prince Edward Island, with many still in the process of forming. Groups have also formed in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. One of their mandates is to support the unsung heroes of Africa, the grandmothers. Grandmothers single-handedly care for millions of children orphaned by AIDS, sometimes as many as ten to fifteen in one household.  Grandmothers to Grandmothers an important worldly cause!
