We have the Entertainment, lets start with Country Singer Kristal Barrett, but wait they promise more......SO, put on your denim, add the Diamond's and be a DIVA at our Spring Fling! CAN YOU IMAGINE! Guest Speaker: Councillor Judy A. Villeneuve On Surrey City Council for 20 years, Councillor Villeneuve holds the Social Planning and Housing Portfolio. As Chair of the Social Planning Committee, Judy provided leadership in establishing an Affordable Housing Reserve Fund, Social Planning and Youth Recognition Awards, a relevant Multicultural Policy and community discussions on health care issues. An avid advocate for the arts, Judy spearheaded Surrey's Public Art Policy, participated in developing a Cultural Plan for the City and chaired the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Cultural Committee. Judy is a committed environmentalist and is concerned about Public Safety. She pushed for the opening of community police stations throughout Surrey and serves on the City's Public Safety Committee.

Greetings Ladies, Please come to our April luncheon. During our meeting, we will be hearing from Louise Henry. She specializes in home staging and decluttering.At our March luncheon, one member stood up and said that she had furniture to give to a needy home. Well I heard from another member about how the furniture changed the lives of a few other families. If you have excess don’t forget to ask if someone can use it or advertise it in the newsletter. We also talked about connections and building relationships and that business comes from those relationships. Have you thought about getting to know some of the core members by joining one of the core teams? The more people who take a piece of the work, the less time it takes the stronger the result as more people have input and the more fun we seem to have. Talk to any core member about the benefits of joining the core. If you would like to volunteer please see/talk to/email Elfrieda (eekeek@shaw.ca). Please mark your calendars for our May luncheon. Welcome to our April 27th Dinner Event at the Coast Hotel. 6:30-9pm. Glenda Standeven will be our guest speaker. A member of the VWN Chilliwack Chapter, Glenda's personal story is inspiring and engaging! "Choosing to Smile' is the attitude Glenda adopted early in her journey through her diagnosis and treatment of cancer. She donated countless volunteer hours in her community and has received numerous awards for her efforts, including the prestigious Governor General's 'Caring Canadian Award' in 2005. A new author, she will bring her books for sale and signing.

"Just like in our fabulous March meeting, every table is being hosted by a Core member and will be decorated in spring colors and there will be a gift for every person at each table!!! Our luncheon is going to be an interesting, educational and fun!! Make sure you pass this on and invite your friends!!" Location: Compass Point Inn located at: 9850 King George Hwy., Surrey. Time: Tables - Set up between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m. Cost: $20 - members who reserve by 1 week prior Reservation Deadline: Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 @ midnight. Cancellations are accepted up to this time.
Members who do not cancel by the deadline posted will be charged for the lunch. Vendor Table 'No-Shows' will be charged $10 for table and $20 for lunch.
To book your spot please register on-line. Let us know your name, phone number and number of guests. Members: Please specify if table is requested. We are in the process of trouble shooting our reservations system and can not do this without your help, so when registering on-line here please make sure of the following: ** If you experience any problems with this on-line reservations system, we want to know about it. We kindly ask for you to report any problems and if you receive an 'error' message on your system while registering, please send the Webmistress Michelle Panzlaff a 'screen shot' of your computers desktop with error message displayed on it. ***If for any reason you wish to register by email and want to by-pass this on-line system altogether, please then email our Reservations to do so.
