VWN About Us
About the Valley Woman's Network
Our Mission Statement
The Valley Women’s Network is dedicated to bringing together women from all walks of life so that they may share and support each other’s goals and interests, exchange ideas, and encourage both learning from their peers and set a good example for others. We provide a platform to members for business networking and informative discussions on promoting a positive selfimage, health, safety, well-being and successful business practices.
History
The Valley Women's Network was formed by a group of women from Chilliwack, Mission and Abbotsford in October 1980 in Chilliwack. They decided over a dinner planning meeting to setup the group as we know it today. The Chilliwack Chapter disbanded only to start again in 1993. The Abbotsford Chapter was founded in 1981. The Network is modeled loosely after other national Network groups and was designed to meet the special needs of women. Since 1992, Associate Chapters have been formed in Mission (1992), Chilliwack (1993), Langley (1995), Surrey (1997-2007), Evening (1998), Powell River (1998-2004), Tri-City (1999), Delta (2001-2007), White Rock (2001), Texada Island (2001-2004), Vancouver (2004), Maple Ridge (2006) and Surrey / Delta (2007).
Purpose
The purpose of the Network is to bring together women of all walks of life for personal and professional growth, to initiate contact between women, to provide a comfortable environment for sharing common career and social concerns, and to offer self-development opportunities. Women have come to our Network to meet other women, to make business contacts and to make friends. The Valley Women’s Network is a non-partisan, non-religious, non-affiliated group and does not have any particular single focus interest. It does not lobby for any cause or idea.
Visit the current Valley Women's Network chapter home pages for more information about the individual chapters.
